Screencasts

I'd like a screencast about ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Developing with Ansible

Virtual machines are everywhere nowadays. Vagrant has become a thing for developers, but provisioning your VM can be a nightmare.

If you're tired by the complexity of puppet and chef this is the screencast for you. Ansible is the easiest way to configure your virtual machine, and you'll be able to manage it in a few minutes.

    • BDD With Symfony and Behat

Understanding what the client really need is crucial. As modern PHP developer we need to write code that does the right thing, not only that does things right. BDD is the answer.

This screencast will be all about the tools and the practices about writing good, behavior driven tests. For PHP we have great libraries such as Behat and PHPSpec, unleash their full power.

Learning Symfony2 can be a tough job, we would like to build a 101 course that will bring you into the Symfony world.

The course will be based on different medias, not just screencast but also text lectures.

How to work with Symfony in TDD. It would be great to cover PHPUnit, Mockery, Behat and Codeception cases.

              Hello,
I'd like a screencast to learn in a practical and fast configuration of a bundle that handles paypal, maybe not the mere payment, but a real shopping cart!

              Thank you for your work!

              • Best Practices to Achieve Symfony 2 Modularity

PHP development has changed a lot over years, most of developer still do procedural/functional code. It would be great to have a screencast focused to best practices of how to achieve symfony 2 modularity in the correct way. What's module, what should and shouldn't contain, patterns, architecture, cases, etc..

                  • Description

Hi, I really like your tutorial. But I really didn't catch up names of bundles, config values and so on. And pausing and playing video over and over to find a tiny little bit of configuration is really annoying. So do you think, that you could in description leave some kind of notes (maybe whole project folder?)

                    Thanks very much

All our tutorials ship with the full source code, so you can follow the video to learn the concepts and have a general idea, and then switch to the code to review the actual implementation. We like your suggestion though and we will add also a detailed description for our next tutorials

                              • Working with Form like a pro

The form form framework is one of the most underused part of Symfony. It is quite flexible but also a bit complex and can be scaring for newcomers.

Working with Symfony forms will be easy again. We'll start from the begging and you'll be able to unleash the full power of this framework component.

                                • Apply your screenfony

Why dont you open a service that allow people to investigate and create their own screenfon?
You could provide a toolset (palette, fonts, requirements) and allow:
                                  1) discover if there are people interested in buying a specific screenfony
                                  2) develop, upload and deploy (after your approval) a new screenfony

                                  Benefit for the author?
All screenfony are free for ever.

                                      • jQuery to make much more powerful Symfony 2 projects.

When things cannot be done in Symfony 2, its time to use javascript.
Practical usage of jQuery in everyday work.
